Combe Cottage is situated between the two villages of Holcombe and Stoke St Michael, both within a short walking distance, offering two pubs, and small country restaurant, along with the village store for provisions.
The area is full of interesting places to visit, all within an easy drive, the steam Railway of East Cranmore is five minutes away, and the City of Wells with its Cathedral and quaint shops. Glastonbury and the Tor are nearby for a mystical day out. The Georgian City of Bath is 20 minutes drive. For the children a day at Longleat with the Safari Park, or Cheddar to see the Caves. There is fishing and sailing on the Chew Valley resevoir. The Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet is close by and features many events all through the year.
For walkers there are many routes from the cottage. There are several National Trust gardens and houses to visit nearby including Stour Head and Lytes Cary.
